TECHNICAL DETAILS

3D Printing:
what to know.

FDM 3D printing is our main focus, with resin (MSLA) printing when a job needs it. From functional prototypes and spare parts to fixtures and large multi-part models, we choose the material for the part's real-world conditions and handle finishing and assembly.

Single-print volume
400 × 400 × 400 mm
Larger models
Split into parts, printed and assembled
Dimensional tolerance
About ±0.1 mm under suitable conditions
Nozzle sizes
0.20–1.20 mm (incl. intermediate sizes)
Layer height
Chosen per nozzle; calculated target range 0.04–0.96 mm
Multi-colour printing
Automatic colour change with up to 4 filaments
Flexible TPU
Filaments as soft as Shore 75A
Order quantity
Small models: usually a 50–100 unit minimum · large multi-part projects (~500 mm scale): single units
Lead time
Per project; given after technical review

Print materials

  • PLA
  • PETG
  • ABS
  • ASA
  • PA (nylon)
  • PC (polycarbonate)
  • TPU
  • Carbon-fibre filled (CF)
  • Glass-fibre filled (GF)
  • Resin (MSLA)

Typical applications

  • Functional prototypes
  • Mechanical jigs and fixtures
  • Custom mounting and connecting parts
  • Replacement parts
  • Scale models and decorative products
  • Batches of small parts
  • Printing on tulle fabric with TPU 95A
  • Finishing: support removal, sanding, surface smoothing, primer and paint, heat-set threaded inserts/nuts, fasteners and assembly. Not automatically included; listed separately in the quote.
  • The ±0.1 mm tolerance and 0.04–0.96 mm layer range are not guaranteed for every machine, material and geometry; they are assessed per part size, orientation, shrinkage and material.
  • STL, 3MF, OBJ and STEP files are accepted. Without a model, a separate 3D design job can start from photos, sketches or a physical reference.
  • Jobs with more than four colours or combining different polymers in one print need extra technical review.

FOR YOUR PROJECT

What should we clarify before quoting?

Start with the intended use

Where will the part be used? Explain the heat, load, flexibility or outdoor conditions it needs to handle. We review filament options around your requirements, not just colour.

Clarify dimensions and geometry

Tell us the file format and units used in your model. Identify mating parts, important surfaces and critical dimensions so we can review production feasibility.

Define the quote scope

Share the quantity, colour preference, design requirements and target date. Pricing and delivery are confirmed after reviewing the model and current production schedule.

ABOUT THIS SERVICE

Frequently asked questions.

What should I send for a print quote?

Start with the model, units, quantity, intended use and any critical dimensions. Without a file, reference images and approximate dimensions can form the basis of a design request.

Can I request a quote without choosing a material?

Yes. Describe the operating conditions instead of naming a material. Current filament options and production suitability are reviewed for your project.

How should I specify the finish of an FDM part?

FDM builds parts in layers. Discuss visible surfaces, print orientation and detail expectations before quoting. A specific finish or tolerance is not promised before reviewing the project.

I don't have a 3D model. Can you produce from a photo or a broken part?

Yes, a design review can start from photos, measurements, sketches or a physical reference. Critical dimensions and, if needed, the CAD model are approved before production.

Can you print in multiple colours?

Yes. We have automatic colour changing with four filament inputs. More than four colours or multi-material jobs need extra technical review.

Can I order a single 3D print?

We take single-unit orders for large, multi-part projects at roughly 500 mm scale or more. Not all three axes need to be 500 mm; what matters is whether the model can be split and assembled. Our single-print volume is 400 × 400 × 400 mm. Smaller models usually have a 50–100 unit minimum.
