FAQ
What is a lithophane?
A lithophane is a thin plate whose thickness follows the tones of a photo. With light behind it, thin areas glow and thick areas stay dark, so the photo appears.
Which photos work best?
Sharp, well-lit photos with good contrast. Close-ups with a plain background work best for faces. Raise the brightness a little for very dark photos.
How should I print it?
Use white PLA, 100% infill and 0.12–0.16 mm layers, and print the plate standing up (long edge on the bed). A lower speed keeps the fine detail.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The photo and the STL are processed entirely in your browser; nothing is sent to our server.
